The Trusted Platform Module (TPM) is a piece of security hardware found often in laptops and cell phones. It will be standard on new products starting in 2022 (and enterprise products going forward). It will also be offered as an option on most existing products (5xx-7xx color and 5xx-8xx mono where Secure Element is available today). TPM provides a more secure experience by storing hard drive encryption keys on a separate piece of hardware securely. It can also help make encryption stronger through better random number generation and in the future will help securely identify printers to our cloud and other applications.

Provides stronger security on devices and compliance with the latest security standards including Common Criteria and NIAP certification.
Identifies printer to cloud/premise software and enables printer to more securely participate in future cloud/IoT ecosystems.
Encryption keys are stored separately from the data they protect for added security.
